I personally headcanon Vulcans as being more alien than portrayed in the series. This includes being taller and having more animalistic anatomy. I also portray Spock as having green-tinted skin and cat-like eyes.
I also headcanon Vulcans as having a vastly different idea of gender to humans. They reproduce using telepathy and mind melding, essentially melding parts of their DNA into a new being. As such, there are no sexual differences between Vulcans. Additionally, they see no need to make distinctions such as "male" or "female" or otherwise. They use one neutral pronoun to refer to all, Spock merely chose to present in a masculine way once entering human society.
